RESOURCE CONFIGURATION METHOD AND APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18163601 titled 'RESOURCE CONFIGURATION METHOD AND APPARATUS
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a method and apparatus for configuring a resource block (RB) in a network device for a terminal device. The method ensures that the serial number of the start RB and/or the serial number of the last RB in a bandwidth part (BWP) are integer multiples of a positive integer K. This increases resource utilization by allowing more RBs to be used in a control-resource set (CORESET).
- The method ensures that the serial number of the start RB and/or the serial number of the last RB in a BWP are integer multiples of a positive integer K.
- This is achieved by checking if the serial number of the start RB and/or the serial number of the last RB satisfy the conditions Nmod K=0 and/or (N+L)mod K=0, where N is the serial number of the common resource block (CRB) corresponding to the start RB and L is the quantity of consecutive RBs occupied by the BWP.
- By configuring the RBs in this way, more RBs can be used in a CORESET, leading to increased resource utilization.
Potential Applications
- This technology can be applied in wireless communication systems to improve resource utilization and increase the efficiency of data transmission.
- It can be used in 5G networks to optimize the allocation of RBs and enhance network performance.
Problems Solved
- The method solves the problem of inefficient resource utilization in wireless communication systems.
- It addresses the challenge of optimizing RB allocation in 5G networks to improve network efficiency and performance.
Benefits
- By ensuring that the serial number of the start RB and/or the serial number of the last RB in a BWP are integer multiples of K, more RBs can be used in a CORESET, leading to increased resource utilization.
- This results in improved network efficiency and performance, allowing for better data transmission in wireless communication systems.
- The method provides a systematic approach to RB configuration, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization of resources.
Original Abstract Submitted
A resource configuration method and an apparatus are provided. A serial number Nof a common resource block (CRB) corresponding to a start resource block (RB) of a bandwidth part (BWP) configured by a network device for a terminal device and a quantity Lof consecutive RBs occupied by the BWP meet one or more of the following conditions: Nmod K=0; and/or (N+L)mod K=0, where mod is a remainder operation, and K is a positive integer. Based on the foregoing method, during BWP configuration, it can be ensured that the serial number of the start CRB of the BWP and/or a serial number of a CRB corresponding to a last RB included in the BWP each are/is an integer multiple of K. In this way, it can be ensured that more RBs can be used in a control-resource set (CORESET), thereby increasing resource utilization.
