DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING AN ANISOTROPIC CONDUCTIVE FILM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18155704 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING AN ANISOTROPIC CONDUCTIVE FILM

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a display device with a display panel and a pad region. The pad portion in the pad region is connected to a circuit substrate using an anisotropic conductive film. The pad portion includes a first pad with a specific angle, and the anisotropic conductive film contains conductive particles arranged in a specific pattern.

  • The display device includes a display panel with a pad region and a circuit substrate.
  • The pad portion in the pad region is connected to the circuit substrate using an anisotropic conductive film.
  • The pad portion includes a first pad with a specific angle between its lateral side and the Y axis.
  • The anisotropic conductive film contains conductive particles arranged at the vertices of an imaginary quadrangle.
  • The length of the first diagonal line of the quadrangle is shorter than the length of the second diagonal line.
  • The second diagonal line and the Y axis form a specific angle.
  • The first angle between the lateral side of the first pad and the Y axis is greater than the second angle formed by the second diagonal line and the Y axis.

Potential Applications:

  • This display device technology can be used in various electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and televisions.
  • It can also be applied in automotive displays, wearable devices, and other consumer electronics.

Problems Solved:

  • The specific arrangement of the conductive particles in the anisotropic conductive film ensures reliable electrical connection between the pad portion and the circuit substrate.
  • The specific angles of the first pad and the second diagonal line provide improved performance and stability of the display device.

Benefits:

  • The use of anisotropic conductive film with conductive particles enhances the electrical connection between the pad portion and the circuit substrate.
  • The specific angles in the design contribute to the reliability and performance of the display device.
  • This technology can lead to improved display quality and durability in electronic devices.

Original Abstract Submitted

A display device includes a display panel having a display region and a pad region. A pad portion is disposed in the pad region. A circuit substrate is electrically connected to the pad portion. An anisotropic conductive film is interposed between the pad portion and the circuit substrate. The pad portion includes a first pad of which a lateral side and a Y axis form a first angle greater than 0°. The anisotropic conductive film includes conductive particles. The conductive particles are disposed at vertices of an imaginary quadrangle having a length of a first diagonal line shorter than a length of a second diagonal line when viewed front above. The second diagonal line and the Y axis form a second angle greater than 0°. The first angle and the second angle are acute angles. The first angle is greater than the second angle.
