POWER SUPPLY DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18155439 titled 'POWER SUPPLY DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SAME

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a power supply device that includes multiple switch elements, a detection circuit, a sensor, and a controller. The device selectively provides an AC power source to an actuation device based on the size of the power source and the state of the switch elements.

  • The power supply device has a first switch element that controls the supply of AC power to an actuation device.
  • A second switch element is used to control the supply of AC power to the first switch element.
  • A detection circuit is included to determine if the first switch element is fully turned on by comparing the input and output power sources.
  • A sensor is used to measure the size of the AC power source.
  • A controller selectively operates the second switch element based on the size of the power source and the confirmed full turn-on state of the first switch element.

Potential Applications

  • Industrial automation systems
  • Power supply for electronic devices
  • Renewable energy systems

Problems Solved

  • Efficiently controlling the supply of AC power to an actuation device
  • Ensuring the first switch element is fully turned on
  • Optimizing power supply based on the size of the power source

Benefits

  • Improved energy efficiency
  • Enhanced control over power supply
  • Increased reliability and performance of actuation devices

Original Abstract Submitted

A power supply device is provided. The power supply device includes a first switch element for selectively providing an alternating current (AC) power source to an actuation device, a second switch element for selectively providing the AC power source to the first switch element, a detection circuit for confirming whether or not the first switch element is in a full turn-on state, by comparing an input power source and an output power source of the first switch element, a sensor for sensing the size of the AC power source, and a controller for selectively controlling the operation of the second switch element on the basis of the sensed size of the AC power source and the confirmed full turn-on state.
