ELECTRONIC DEVICE SUPPORTING MULTI-WINDOW MODE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18153719 titled 'ELECTRONIC DEVICE SUPPORTING MULTI-WINDOW MODE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
Simplified Explanation
An electronic device is described in this patent application. The device includes a sensor, display, processor, and memory. The processor executes instructions stored in the memory to perform various functions.
- The device acquires display feature information based on its state.
- A user can select a first icon displayed on the screen to execute an application.
- Based on the display feature information, the device determines a layout for displaying multiple application screens simultaneously.
- The determined layout is displayed in a designated area of the screen.
- The device also displays a second icon that allows the user to store the displayed layout.
- When the user selects the second icon, the layout is stored.
- A third icon is generated and displayed in the original area, representing the stored layout.
Potential Applications
- This technology can be applied to smartphones, tablets, or other electronic devices with a display.
- It allows users to easily switch between multiple applications and view them simultaneously.
- The multi-window layout feature can enhance multitasking capabilities and improve user productivity.
Problems Solved
- This technology solves the problem of limited screen space on electronic devices.
- It provides a solution for efficiently managing and displaying multiple applications on a single screen.
- Users can easily switch between applications without closing or minimizing them, saving time and effort.
Benefits
- Users can view and interact with multiple applications simultaneously, improving multitasking efficiency.
- The ability to store and recall specific multi-window layouts allows for personalized and efficient workflows.
- The technology enhances user experience by providing a more flexible and intuitive interface for managing applications.
Original Abstract Submitted
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a sensor, a display, a processor, and a memory including instructions which, when executed, cause the processor to acquire display feature information based on a state of the electronic device, receive a first user input which selects a first icon displayed in a first area of the display for executing an application, determine a multi-window layout for displaying an execution screen of multiple applications in response to the first user input, based on the display feature information, display the determined multi-window layout in a second area of the display, display a second icon to which an operation of storing the displayed multi-window layout is mapped, upon receiving a second user input of selecting the second icon, store the multi-window layout, and generate a third icon to which the multi-window layout is mapped, and display the third icon in the first area.
