PHYSICAL DOWNLINK SHARED CHANNEL (PDSCH) REPETITION TRANSMISSION FOR RELIABLE COMMUNICATIONS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18152552 titled 'PHYSICAL DOWNLINK SHARED CHANNEL (PDSCH) REPETITION TRANSMISSION FOR RELIABLE COMMUNICATIONS

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes technology for user equipment (UE) that can operate for physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) repetition communication. The UE includes processors that can decode information from a first transmission and one or more repeated transmissions from the PDSCH. It can also decode a repetition parameter value and determine whether the first transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state and the additional TCI states for the repeated transmission are different based on the repetition parameter value.

  • The technology enables user equipment to decode information from repeated transmissions on a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH).
  • The user equipment can determine whether the configuration indicator states for the first transmission and the repeated transmissions are different.
  • The technology utilizes a repetition parameter value to make this determination.

Potential Applications

  • This technology can be applied in wireless communication systems that use physical downlink shared channels.
  • It can improve the reliability and efficiency of data transmission in these systems.

Problems Solved

  • The technology solves the problem of efficiently decoding information from repeated transmissions on a physical downlink shared channel.
  • It addresses the challenge of determining whether the configuration indicator states for the first transmission and the repeated transmissions are different.

Benefits

  • Improved reliability of data transmission due to the ability to decode repeated transmissions.
  • Enhanced efficiency in wireless communication systems by accurately determining the configuration indicator states.

Original Abstract Submitted

Technology for user equipment (UE) operable for physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) repetition communication is disclosed. The UE can comprise one or more processors configured to: decode information from a first transmission from a PDSCH and information from one or more repeated transmissions from the PDSCH; decode a repetition parameter value; and determine whether a first transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state for the first transmission and one or more additional TCI states for the one or more repeated transmission are different based on the repetition parameter value.
