METHOD OF RANDOM ACCESS PROCEDURE FOR SUPPORTING LARGE RANDOM ACCESS RESPONSE (RAR) WINDOW SIZE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18150483 titled 'METHOD OF RANDOM ACCESS PROCEDURE FOR SUPPORTING LARGE RANDOM ACCESS RESPONSE (RAR) WINDOW SIZE
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a method for handling listen before talk (LBT) failure in a wireless communication system. Here is a simplified explanation of the abstract:
- The method is performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system.
- It involves identifying consistent LBT failure for active uplink (UL) bandwidth part (BWP) in a serving cell.
- It also involves identifying at least one UL BWP for which consistent LBT failure has not been triggered on the same carrier in the serving cell.
- The identified UL BWP is configured with a physical random access channel (PRACH) occasion.
- The method further includes switching the active UL BWP to one of the identified UL BWPs.
Potential applications of this technology:
- Wireless communication systems
- Mobile networks
- Internet of Things (IoT) devices
- 5G and future generations of wireless networks
Problems solved by this technology:
- Handling listen before talk (LBT) failure in a wireless communication system
- Ensuring consistent LBT failure identification for active uplink (UL) bandwidth part (BWP)
- Managing UL BWPs configured with physical random access channel (PRACH) occasions
Benefits of this technology:
- Improved reliability and efficiency in wireless communication systems
- Enhanced performance of mobile networks and IoT devices
- Better management of UL BWPs and PRACH occasions in a serving cell
Original Abstract Submitted
A method performed by a terminal for handling listen before talk (LBT) failure in a wireless communication system is provided. The method comprises identifying consistent LBT failure for active uplink (UL) bandwidth part (BWP) in a serving cell, identifying at least one UL BWP for which consistent LBT failure has not been triggered on same carrier in the serving cell, wherein the at least one UL BWP is configured with physical random access channel (PRACH) occasion, and switching the active UL BWP to an UL BWP among the at least one UL BWP.
