VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18131965 titled 'VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a control system for a vehicle that includes a recognition sensor, an information processing device, and a notification device. The system is designed to detect and respond to the presence of region-specific wild animals in order to avoid potential dangers.

  • The information processing device analyzes information from the recognition sensor, map data of endemic animal distribution areas, and the vehicle's own position.
  • It determines if a notification condition is met based on this information.
  • If the condition is met, the system notifies the vehicle's occupants of the type of region-specific wild animal present using the notification device.
  • Additionally, if the recognition sensor detects a region-specific wild animal, the system initiates danger avoidance driving to prevent any crisis caused by the animal.

Potential Applications

This technology can be applied in various vehicles, including cars, trucks, and off-road vehicles, to enhance safety and prevent accidents caused by encounters with region-specific wild animals.

Problems Solved

1. Avoiding accidents: The system helps drivers avoid collisions with region-specific wild animals by providing early warnings and initiating danger avoidance driving. 2. Protecting wildlife: By alerting drivers to the presence of region-specific wild animals, the system promotes coexistence and reduces the risk of harm to both humans and animals.

Benefits

1. Enhanced safety: The system provides timely warnings and alerts to drivers, enabling them to take appropriate actions to avoid accidents. 2. Improved wildlife conservation: By raising awareness of the presence of region-specific wild animals, the system helps protect these animals and their habitats. 3. Reduced vehicle damage: By avoiding collisions with wild animals, the system helps prevent damage to vehicles, reducing repair costs for drivers.

Original Abstract Submitted

A control system for a vehicle including a recognition sensor, an information processing device, and a notification device has the following features. The information processing device executes a process of determining whether a notification condition is satisfied based on information of a recognition result by the recognition sensor, map information of an endemic animal distribution area indicating an area in which a region-specific wild animal inhabits, and information of a vehicle's own position, a process of notifying at least an occupant of a warning or an alarm regarding the type of the region-specific wild animal via the notification device when it is determined that the notification condition is satisfied, and a process of executing danger avoidance driving of avoiding a crisis caused by the region-specific wild animal based on a predetermined condition when the detection information of the region-specific wild animal is included in the information of the recognition result.
