WEARABLE DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MEASURING BIOMETRIC INFORMATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18109020 titled 'WEARABLE DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MEASURING BIOMETRIC INFORMATION

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a wearable device that includes a display, a frame with conductive and non-conductive regions, biosensors, and a processor. The device can identify events related to acquiring biometric information, select conductive regions for acquiring the information, and collect the biometric data using those regions.

  • The wearable device has a display on its front surface.
  • The frame of the device contains conductive and non-conductive regions.
  • Biosensors are placed within the frame and connected to the conductive regions.
  • A processor is connected to the biosensors and can identify events related to acquiring biometric information.
  • When an event occurs, the processor selects conductive regions to acquire the biometric data.
  • The processor then collects the biometric information using the selected conductive regions.

Potential Applications

  • Health and fitness tracking
  • Medical monitoring
  • Biometric authentication

Problems Solved

  • Simplifies the acquisition of biometric information
  • Provides a wearable device with integrated biosensors
  • Enables real-time monitoring of biometric data

Benefits

  • Convenient and wearable form factor
  • Improved accuracy and reliability of biometric data
  • Enables personalized and targeted health monitoring

Original Abstract Submitted

According to the present disclosure, a wearable device is disclosed, the wearable device may include: a front surface including a display; a frame having the display seated therein and forming the sides of the wearable device, wherein the frame includes a plurality of conductive regions and a non-conductive region exposed between the plurality of conductive regions; a plurality of biosensors arranged in a space formed by the frame and electrically connected to the plurality of conductive regions; and a processor electrically connected to the plurality of biosensors, wherein the processor is configured to: identify occurrence of an event related to the acquisition of biometric information, identify, in response to the occurrence of the event, at least one conductive region for acquiring the biometric information among the plurality of conductive regions, and acquire the biometric information using the identified at least one conductive region.
