USER EQUIPMENT (UE) - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18107565 titled 'USER EQUIPMENT (UE)

Simplified Explanation

The patent application abstract describes a method for a user equipment (UE) to release a communication path for direct C2 communication based on received network commands.

  • User equipment (UE) can receive a PDU session release command message from the network.
  • The message can revoke authentication and/or authorization for the direct C2 communication path.
  • UE can indicate an appropriate cause value during the release procedure.
  • This process allows for the modification or revocation of communication paths as needed.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in military communications, emergency response systems, and secure data transfer applications.

Problems Solved

This technology solves the problem of efficiently managing and modifying communication paths for direct C2 communication.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include enhanced security, improved communication management, and increased flexibility in network operations.

Potential Commercial Applications

Potential commercial applications include secure messaging platforms, IoT devices, and remote monitoring systems.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be the use of similar communication path management systems in telecommunications networks.

Unanswered Questions

How does this technology impact network latency?

This article does not address the potential impact of communication path modifications on network latency. Further research is needed to determine if there are any latency issues associated with this technology.

Can this technology be integrated with existing communication protocols?

The article does not discuss the compatibility of this technology with existing communication protocols. It would be beneficial to explore how easily this innovation can be integrated into current communication systems.

Original Abstract Submitted

In a case that user equipment (UE) that has established a communication path for direct C2 communication receives, from a network, a PDU session release command message for revoking authentication and/or authorization of the communication path for the direct C2 communication or a PDU session modification command message, the UE can indicate an appropriate cause value in the procedure of releasing the communication path for the direct C2 communication.
