METHOD FOR MANAGING WIRELESS CONNECTION OF ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND DEVICE THEREFOR - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18106886 titled 'METHOD FOR MANAGING WIRELESS CONNECTION OF ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND DEVICE THEREFOR

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes an electronic device that includes a communication module, display module, processor, and memory. The device can obtain state information of an external electronic device and check if it is connected to another external device through a common channel. If connected, the device can transmit control commands to the first external device using a dedicated channel.

  • The electronic device has a communication module, display module, processor, and memory.
  • The processor obtains state information of a first external electronic device based on a signal broadcast by the device.
  • When a control request for the first external device is inputted, the processor checks if it is connected to a second external device through a common channel.
  • If connected, the processor transmits control commands to the first external device using a dedicated channel.

Potential Applications

  • Smart home devices: The technology can be used to manage and control various smart home devices, such as lights, thermostats, and security systems.
  • Internet of Things (IoT): It can be applied to manage and control IoT devices, allowing for seamless communication and control between different devices.
  • Remote control systems: The technology can be used in remote control systems for various applications, such as industrial automation or unmanned vehicles.

Problems Solved

  • Simplified device management: The technology simplifies the management of multiple external devices by automatically checking their connection status and enabling control commands.
  • Efficient communication: By using a dedicated channel for transmitting control commands, the technology ensures efficient and reliable communication between devices.
  • Seamless integration: The technology allows for seamless integration of different devices, enabling them to work together and provide a unified user experience.

Benefits

  • Improved user experience: Users can easily manage and control multiple devices without the need for complex setup or manual configuration.
  • Time and energy-saving: The technology automates the process of checking device connections and transmitting control commands, saving time and energy for users.
  • Enhanced device compatibility: The technology supports communication between different devices, promoting interoperability and compatibility in a connected ecosystem.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device may include a communication module, a display module, at least one processor, and a memory. The at least one processor may: obtain state information of a first external electronic device on the basis of a first signal broadcast by the first external electronic device; when a control request for the first external electronic device is inputted, check whether the first external electronic device is connected to a second external electronic device through a common channel, on the basis of the state information; when the first external electronic device is connected to the second external electronic device through a common channel, transmit a control command corresponding to the control request by connecting to the first external electronic device using a dedicated channel. Other embodiments are possible for a method for managing a wireless connection of an electronic device and a device supporting the same.
