METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR UPLINK CHANNEL ACCESSING WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18098250 titled 'METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR UPLINK CHANNEL ACCESSING WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a communication technique that combines 5G and IoT technologies to create an intelligent service. The method involves a user equipment (UE) receiving information from a base station about the type of channel access to use for uplink (UL) transmission. The channel access type can be either to sense an idle channel before UL transmission using a random or deterministic time duration, or not to sense the channel at all. The UE then transmits the UL transmission based on the specified channel access type.

  • The patent application describes a communication technique that integrates 5G and IoT technologies.
  • The method allows a UE to receive information from a base station about the type of channel access to use for UL transmission.
  • The channel access type can be random or deterministic sensing of an idle channel before UL transmission, or no sensing at all.
  • The UE then transmits the UL transmission according to the specified channel access type.

Potential Applications

  • This communication technique can be applied to intelligent services based on 5G and IoT technologies.
  • It can be used in various IoT applications that require high data transmission rates, such as smart cities, industrial automation, and healthcare systems.
  • The technique can enable efficient and reliable communication between IoT devices and the 5G network.

Problems Solved

  • The technique addresses the challenge of integrating 5G and IoT technologies to create intelligent services.
  • It solves the problem of determining the appropriate channel access type for UL transmission in a communication system.
  • The method provides flexibility in channel access, allowing for random or deterministic sensing of idle channels or no sensing at all.

Benefits

  • The fusion of 5G and IoT technologies enables higher data transmission rates and improved connectivity for IoT devices.
  • The method provides options for different channel access types, allowing for optimized UL transmission based on specific requirements.
  • It enhances the efficiency and reliability of communication in IoT applications, leading to improved performance and user experience.

Original Abstract Submitted

A communication technique for fusing 5G communication, which supports a higher data transmission rate than a 4G system, with an IoT technology is provided, and may be applied to an intelligent service based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT related technology. Accordingly, a method performed by a UE in a communication system includes receiving, from a base station, information indicating a channel access type via DCI, wherein the information indicates the channel access type as one of a first type to sense a channel to be idle before a UL transmission using a random time duration, a second type to sense the channel to be idle before the UL transmission using a deterministic time duration, or a third type not to sense the channel before the UL transmission; and transmitting, to the base station, the UL transmission according to the channel access type.
