AIR PURIFIER - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18097854 titled 'AIR PURIFIER

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a ceiling type air purifier that includes a housing with an opening, a filter, a fan, a convergent space, and a discharge assembly. The discharge assembly allows access to the convergent space and controls the direction of air discharged from it.

  • The air purifier is designed to be mounted on the ceiling.
  • The housing has an opening on the lower side for air intake.
  • A filter is fixed to the housing to capture impurities from the air.
  • A fan circulates the air that has passed through the filter.
  • A convergent space is formed in the housing to receive the circulated air.
  • The discharge assembly includes a discharge plate that matches the lower portion of the convergent space.
  • A discharge blade is rotatably coupled with the discharge plate to control the direction of discharged air.
  • The discharge assembly is coupled with the housing and can rotate on a rotation shaft.
  • The rotation of the discharge assembly allows access to the convergent space or closes it.

Potential Applications

  • Homes and apartments to improve indoor air quality.
  • Offices and commercial buildings to provide clean air for occupants.
  • Hospitals and healthcare facilities to reduce the spread of airborne contaminants.

Problems Solved

  • Provides a convenient and efficient way to purify air in a room or space.
  • Allows for easy access to the filter for cleaning or replacement.
  • Enables control over the direction of discharged air for optimal air circulation.

Benefits

  • Mounting on the ceiling saves valuable floor or wall space.
  • The filter effectively captures impurities from the air.
  • The fan ensures proper circulation of purified air.
  • The discharge assembly allows for easy maintenance and control of air direction.

Original Abstract Submitted

A ceiling type air purifier including a housing having an opening on a lower side; a filter on one side of the opening and fixed to the housing; a fan configured to circulate air having passed through the filter; a convergent space formed in the housing and configured to receive air circulated by the fan; and a discharge assembly including a discharge plate formed to match a lower portion of the convergent space, a discharge blade rotatably coupled with the discharge plate so as to be rotatable to control a moving direction of air discharged from the convergent space, and a rotation shaft at one end of the discharge assembly. The discharge assembly may be coupled with the housing to be rotatable on the rotation shaft so as to rotate to open the convergent space to allow access to the convergent space, and to rotate to close the convergent space.
