ELECTRONIC DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18093279 titled 'ELECTRONIC DEVICE
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes an electronic device with a display panel and an electronic module. It includes two light-blocking elements, one on the display panel and one on the electronic module. The display panel has a hole surrounded by the active region, and the second light-blocking element is placed adjacent to the hole.
- The electronic device has a display panel with an active region and a peripheral region.
- It includes an electronic module positioned below the display panel.
- A first light-blocking element is placed on the display panel, overlapping the peripheral region.
- A second light-blocking element is placed on the electronic module, with the display panel in between.
- The display panel has a hole surrounded by the active region.
- The second light-blocking element is positioned adjacent to the hole.
Potential applications of this technology:
- Mobile phones and tablets
- Laptops and computer monitors
- Television screens
- Gaming consoles
Problems solved by this technology:
- Minimizes light leakage from the peripheral region of the display panel.
- Prevents unwanted light from entering the active region through the hole.
Benefits of this technology:
- Improved display quality by reducing light interference.
- Enhanced visual experience with better contrast and color accuracy.
- Increased privacy by blocking light leakage from the peripheral region.
- More efficient use of display panel space.
Original Abstract Submitted
An electronic device includes: a display panel having an active region and a peripheral region adjacent to the active region; an electronic module disposed below the display panel; a first light-blocking element disposed on the display panel and overlapping the peripheral region; and a second light-blocking element disposed on the electronic module with the display panel interposed therebetween. A hole is at least partially surrounded by the active region is defined in a portion of the display panel. The second light blocking element is disposed in an area adjacent to the hole, when viewed in a plan view. The first light-blocking element has a first thickness and the second light-blocking element has a second thickness less than the first thickness.
