INTEGRATED DEVICE OF PUMP AND VALVE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18085124 titled 'INTEGRATED DEVICE OF PUMP AND VALVE

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes an integrated device that combines a pump and a valve. The device includes a drive unit, a valve assembly, a pump, and a controller. The valve assembly can be switched between two positions by the drive unit, and it has multiple inlets and outlets. The pump is mounted on the drive unit and can communicate with the valve assembly to allow fluid flow.

  • The device combines a pump and a valve into a single integrated unit.
  • The valve assembly can be switched between two positions by the drive unit.
  • The valve assembly has multiple inlets and outlets, allowing for different fluid passages.
  • The pump is mounted on the drive unit and can communicate with the valve assembly to enable fluid flow.
  • The controller controls the operation of the drive unit and the pump.

Potential Applications

  • Industrial processes requiring fluid control and pumping.
  • Water treatment systems.
  • HVAC systems.
  • Medical devices.
  • Automotive systems.

Problems Solved

  • Simplifies the integration of a pump and a valve, reducing the need for separate components.
  • Provides flexibility in fluid control with the ability to switch between different fluid passages.
  • Streamlines operation and control with a single controller for both the drive unit and the pump.

Benefits

  • Space-saving design with the integration of pump and valve.
  • Improved efficiency and performance with seamless communication between the pump and valve assembly.
  • Simplified installation and maintenance with a single integrated device.
  • Cost-effective solution by eliminating the need for separate pump and valve components.

Original Abstract Submitted

An integrated device of a pump and a valve is disclosed. The integrated device of a pump and a valve includes a drive unit, a valve assembly mounted on the drive unit and configured to be switchable to a first position or a second position by the drive unit, a pump mounted on the drive unit, and a controller configured to control operation of the drive unit and the pump. The valve assembly includes a plurality of inlets and a plurality of outlets. At the first position and the second position of the valve assembly, different fluid passages are formed in the valve assembly. The pump is configured to communicate with the valve assembly to allow a flow of fluid through the valve assembly.
