HEADLINER AIR VENT DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18078754 titled 'HEADLINER AIR VENT DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a proposed device for a vehicle that controls the flow of air through the headliner air vent. The device includes a housing with two outlets, one for discharging air and another for discharging air outside the vehicle. Inside the housing, there is a rotatable air guide supporter and an air guide that can move up or down in response to the rotation of the air guide supporter to open or close the second outlet.

  • The device is designed to control the flow of air through a headliner air vent in a vehicle.
  • It includes a housing with two outlets, one for discharging air and another for discharging air outside the vehicle.
  • The second outlet is defined by an inner cover and can discharge air outside the vehicle.
  • Inside the housing, there is a rotatable air guide supporter.
  • An air guide is positioned to face an outer cover that defines the second outlet.
  • The air guide can move up or down in response to the rotation of the air guide supporter.
  • The movement of the air guide allows for the selective opening or closing of the second outlet.

Potential Applications

  • Automotive industry
  • Vehicle ventilation systems

Problems Solved

  • Controlling the flow of air through a headliner air vent
  • Providing a mechanism to selectively open or close an outlet for discharging air outside the vehicle

Benefits

  • Improved control over the ventilation system in a vehicle
  • Ability to adjust the flow of air through the headliner air vent
  • Enhanced comfort for vehicle occupants by regulating the air circulation

Original Abstract Submitted

Proposed is a headliner air vent device for a vehicle. A housing includes a first outlet through which air is discharged and a second outlet comparted by an inner cover and having a configuration by which air is discharged through outside the first outlet. An air guide supporter is rotatable inside the housing. An air guide is positioned to face an outer cover by which the second outlet is defined. The air guide is configured to move upwards or downwards in response to rotation of the air guide supporter to selectively open or close the second outlet.
