DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF FABRICATING THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18076241 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF FABRICATING THE SAME

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a display device with a specific configuration of electrodes and insulating patterns. The device includes a light emitting element and contact electrodes that are arranged in a particular way to improve performance and functionality.

  • The display device has a first electrode and a second electrode on a substrate, with a light emitting element placed between them.
  • A first insulating pattern is placed on top of the light emitting element.
  • A first contact electrode is positioned on one side of the first insulating pattern and makes contact with one end of the light emitting element.
  • A second insulating pattern partially covers the first contact electrode.
  • A third insulating layer is placed on top of the second insulating pattern.
  • A second contact electrode is positioned on the other side of the first insulating pattern and makes contact with the other end of the light emitting element, which is exposed from the insulating patterns and layer.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Display devices in electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and televisions.
  • Lighting applications such as OLED (organic light-emitting diode) panels.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Improved performance and functionality of display devices.
  • Enhanced electrical connectivity and insulation between electrodes and light emitting elements.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Higher quality and efficiency of display devices.
  • Increased durability and reliability of the device.
  • Improved electrical performance and reduced power consumption.

Original Abstract Submitted

A display device may include a first electrode and a second electrode spaced from each other on a substrate. A light emitting element may be on the first electrode and the second electrode. A first insulating pattern may be on the light emitting element. A first contact electrode may be on a first side of the first insulating pattern and contacting a first end of the light emitting element. A second insulating pattern may be on the first insulating pattern and partially covering the first contact electrode. A third insulating layer may be on the second insulating pattern. A second contact electrode may be on a second side of the first insulating pattern, and contact a second end of the light emitting element that is exposed from the first insulating pattern, the second insulating pattern, and the third insulating layer.
