POWER CONTROL FOR SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL RESOURCE INDICATOR BASED ANTENNA SELECTION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18060805 titled 'POWER CONTROL FOR SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL RESOURCE INDICATOR BASED ANTENNA SELECTION

Simplified Explanation

Abstract Explanation

The abstract describes a wireless communication system where a user equipment (UE) receives a configuration for a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource set that includes two SRS resources associated with different antennas of the UE. The UE also receives downlink control information (DCI) that schedules an uplink communication on a specific uplink channel using one of the SRS resources. The UE then transmits the uplink communication using the specified antenna and a transmit power that is based on the pathloss associated with both antennas.

  • The patent application describes a wireless communication system.
  • The user equipment (UE) receives a configuration for a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource set.
  • The SRS resource set includes two SRS resources associated with different antennas of the UE.
  • The UE receives downlink control information (DCI) that schedules an uplink communication on a specific uplink channel.
  • The DCI indicates which SRS resource to use for the uplink communication.
  • The UE transmits the uplink communication using the specified antenna.
  • The transmit power is based on a weighted average of the pathloss associated with both antennas.

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration for a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource set that includes a first SRS resource associated with a first SRS resource indicator (SRI) and a first antenna of the UE, and a second SRS resource associated with a second SRI and a second antenna of the UE. The UE may receive first downlink control information (DCI) that schedules a first uplink communication on a first uplink channel, wherein the first DCI indicates the first SRI. The UE may transmit, using the first antenna, the first uplink communication using a transmit power that is based at least in part on a weighted average of a first pathloss associated with the first antenna and a second pathloss associated with the second antenna. Numerous other aspects are described.
