IMAGE CAPTURING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18048813 titled 'IMAGE CAPTURING APPARATUS

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes an image capturing apparatus that includes an image capturing element, circuit boards, a fan, and a flexible board. The image capturing element can move within a certain range in a direction different from the optical axis. The flexible board is bent in an area that overlaps with the movable range of the image capturing element. The orientation of the fan's exhaust opening is arranged towards the inner surface of the bending portion of the flexible board.

  • Image capturing apparatus with movable image capturing element
  • Circuit boards to mount the image capturing element and connect them electrically
  • Flexible board bent in the area overlapping with the movable range of the image capturing element
  • Fan with exhaust opening oriented towards the inner surface of the bending portion of the flexible board

Potential Applications

  • Photography and videography equipment
  • Surveillance cameras
  • Mobile devices with cameras

Problems Solved

  • Allows for movement of the image capturing element in a different direction from the optical axis
  • Provides flexibility for the circuit boards to accommodate the movement
  • Ensures proper cooling of the apparatus with the orientation of the fan's exhaust opening

Benefits

  • Improved functionality and versatility of image capturing apparatus
  • Enhanced cooling efficiency
  • Compact design with flexible board and circuit boards

Original Abstract Submitted

An image capturing apparatus includes an image capturing element, a first circuit board to mount the image capturing element on the first circuit board, a second circuit board facing the first circuit board, a fan, and a first flexible board electrically connect the first circuit board and the second circuit board. The image capturing element moves within a movable range in a direction different from an optical axis direction. The first flexible board is bent in an area that overlaps with the movable range of the image capturing element in the optical axis direction. When viewed from a direction orthogonal to an optical axis, an orientation of an exhaust opening of the fan is arranged toward an inner surface of a bending portion of the first flexible board closest to the first circuit board at a center position of the movable range of the image capturing element.
