IMAGE CAPTURING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18045902 titled 'IMAGE CAPTURING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes an image capturing apparatus that captures images at different frequencies depending on the transmission setting. When the transmission setting is a first setting, the image capturing frequency is higher than when it is a second or third setting. The apparatus also generates additional information associated with the captured image, which is used for control processing by a control device to control the position and attitude of the image capturing apparatus.

  • The image capturing apparatus captures images at different frequencies based on the transmission setting.
  • When the transmission setting is a first setting, the image capturing frequency is higher.
  • Additional information is generated for the captured image when the transmission setting is the first or third setting.
  • The additional information is used for control processing by a control device to control the position and attitude of the image capturing apparatus.

Potential Applications

  • Surveillance systems
  • Aerial photography and videography
  • Autonomous vehicles
  • Robotics and drones

Problems Solved

  • Efficient use of transmission resources by adjusting the image capturing frequency based on the transmission setting.
  • Improved control of the image capturing apparatus by providing additional information for control processing.

Benefits

  • Higher image capturing frequency when needed for real-time applications or high-speed events.
  • Improved control over the position and attitude of the image capturing apparatus.
  • Efficient use of transmission resources by adjusting the image capturing frequency.

Original Abstract Submitted

There is provided an image capturing apparatus. An image capturing unit captures an image at an image capturing frequency that depends on a transmission setting. In a case where the transmission setting is a first setting, the image capturing frequency is higher than in a case where the transmission setting is a second setting or a third setting. A generation unit generates additional information associated with a captured image obtained by capturing an image at the image capturing frequency in the case where the transmission setting is the first setting or the third setting. The additional information is for use in control processing for a control device to control at least one of position and attitude of the image capturing apparatus.
