IDENTIFIABLE ANTI-SCATTER GRID FOR A RADIOGRAPHIC IMAGING DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18028045 titled 'IDENTIFIABLE ANTI-SCATTER GRID FOR A RADIOGRAPHIC IMAGING DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The present invention involves methods and devices for creating an identifiable anti-scatter grid for a radiographic imaging device. The method includes forming a grid pattern using additive manufacturing, and adding structural modifications to the grid pattern to make it image-based recognizable and create a unique identifier for the grid.

  • Additive manufacturing process used to create grid pattern
  • Structural modifications added to make grid image-based recognizable
  • Unique identification pattern created for grid
  • Anti-scatter grid made identifiable among others

Potential Applications

The technology can be used in various radiographic imaging devices to improve image quality and reduce scatter radiation.

Problems Solved

The technology solves the problem of identifying and distinguishing anti-scatter grids in radiographic imaging devices, ensuring the correct grid is used for each procedure.

Benefits

- Improved image quality - Reduced scatter radiation - Easy identification of anti-scatter grids

Potential Commercial Applications

The technology can be applied in medical imaging facilities, hospitals, and clinics where radiographic imaging devices are used.

Possible Prior Art

There may be prior art related to anti-scatter grids for radiographic imaging devices, but specific examples are not provided in this abstract.

Unanswered Questions

How does this technology compare to traditional methods of identifying anti-scatter grids in radiographic imaging devices?

The article does not provide a comparison between this technology and traditional methods of identifying anti-scatter grids.

What are the specific structural modifications that are added to the grid pattern to make it image-based recognizable?

The article does not detail the specific structural modifications that are added to the grid pattern for recognition purposes.

Original Abstract Submitted

The present invention provides methods and devices for making an anti-scatter grid for a radiographic imaging device identifiable. A method for providing an anti-scatter grid () for a radiographic imaging device comprises forming, by an additive manufacturing process, a grid pattern () in accordance with a product specification of the anti-scatter grid () to be provided; and forming, by an additive manufacturing process, a number of structural modifications () in or at the grid pattern in a manner making the number of structural modifications () image-based recognizable when the anti-scatter grid () is viewed according to its intended use in a viewing direction from a radiation source of the radiographic imaging device, and in a unique identification pattern () creating a unique identifier to make the anti-scatter grid to be provided identifiable among one or more others.
