CROSS-LINK INTERFERENCE MEASUREMENT OVER MULTIPLE BEAMS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17998403 titled 'CROSS-LINK INTERFERENCE MEASUREMENT OVER MULTIPLE BEAMS
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications. It focuses on configuring cross-link interference measurement resources on which a user equipment (UE) can measure cross-link interference (CLI). The UE can measure CLI from a single aggressor UE in multiple receive directions and identify receive beams to measure CLI. The base station may indicate which receive beams to use for CLI measurements. The UE then measures CLI on each CLI measurement resource using the identified receive beam and transmits a CLI report to the base station.
- Base station configures cross-link interference measurement resources for UE to measure CLI
- UE measures CLI from a single aggressor UE in multiple receive directions
- UE identifies receive beams to measure CLI and may receive explicit indications from the base station
- UE measures CLI on each measurement resource using the identified receive beam
- UE transmits CLI report to the base station including CLI measurements and resource indication
Potential Applications
- Wireless communication systems
- Cellular networks
- Internet of Things (IoT) devices
- Satellite communications
Problems Solved
- Cross-link interference in wireless communications
- Efficient measurement of cross-link interference from multiple directions
- Identification of receive beams for accurate CLI measurements
Benefits
- Improved wireless communication performance
- Enhanced interference management
- More efficient use of resources
- Better quality of service for users
Original Abstract Submitted
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a base station may configure one or more cross-link interference measurement resources on which a user equipment (UE) is to measure CLI. The UE may measure CLI from a single aggressor UE in multiple receive directions. The UE may identify receive beams on which it receives other signal types, and use those receive beams to measure CLI. In some examples, the base station may explicitly indicate to the UE which receive beams it is to use for CLI measurements. The UE may measure CLI on each CLI measurement resource using the identified receive beam, and may transmit, to the base station, a CLI report including CLI measurements, an indication of resource on which CLI measurements were taken, or a combination thereof.
