INTERFERENCE RANK INDICATION BY A VICTIM NODE IN FULL DUPLEX - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17997776 titled 'INTERFERENCE RANK INDICATION BY A VICTIM NODE IN FULL DUPLEX

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a wireless user equipment (UE) that can receive a downlink in a network configured for full duplex communication. The UE is able to measure interference from an interfering UE and determine the rank values for the interfering UE based on the measurement. The UE then transmits a channel state information (CSI) report that includes the rank values and channel parameters.

  • Wireless user equipment (UE) configured for full duplex communication
  • Receives indication of maximum rank of an uplink from an interfering UE
  • Measures interference of a signal from the interfering UE
  • Determines rank values for the interfering UE based on the measurement
  • Determines channel parameters for downlink transmissions based on the rank values
  • Transmits a channel state information (CSI) report with rank values and channel parameters

Potential Applications

  • Wireless communication networks
  • Full duplex communication systems
  • Interference management in wireless networks

Problems Solved

  • Interference from an interfering UE in a full duplex communication network
  • Determining rank values and channel parameters for interfering UEs

Benefits

  • Improved interference management in wireless networks
  • More efficient use of wireless spectrum
  • Enhanced performance of full duplex communication systems

Original Abstract Submitted

Aspects of the disclosure relate to a wireless user equipment (UE) configured to receive a downlink in a network configured for full duplex communication. The UE receives from the network an indication of a maximum rank of an uplink from an interfering, aggressor UE. The UE measures interference of a signal from the aggressor UE, and based on the measurement, determines one or more rank values for the aggressor UE, less than or equal to the maximum rank. The UE may further determine one or more channel parameters for downlink transmissions the UE receives, corresponding to the determined rank values. The UE then transmits a channel state information (CSI) report that includes an indication of at least one of the one or more rank values for the aggressor UE. The CSI report may further include the determined channel parameters. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
