ELECTRONIC APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17992272 titled 'ELECTRONIC APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

Simplified Explanation

An electronic apparatus is described in this patent application. The apparatus includes a user interface, a camera, a memory, and a processor. The memory stores a trained artificial intelligence model for detecting emotions from input images. The processor controls the apparatus and performs various functions.

  • The user interface allows users to input text.
  • The camera captures images.
  • The memory stores a trained artificial intelligence model for detecting emotions from images.
  • The processor analyzes the text input to identify if it contains information about the user's emotion.
  • If the text includes emotion information, the processor uses the camera to capture an image.
  • The processor then inputs the image into the artificial intelligence model to obtain more information about the user's emotion.
  • By combining the information from the text and the image, the processor identifies the type of emotion the user is experiencing.

Potential Applications

  • This technology can be used in various applications where understanding user emotions is important, such as customer service, market research, and mental health support.
  • It can be integrated into social media platforms to provide personalized content based on user emotions.
  • The technology can be used in gaming to adapt gameplay based on the user's emotional state.

Problems Solved

  • This technology solves the problem of accurately identifying a user's emotion by combining text input and image analysis.
  • It eliminates the need for users to explicitly state their emotions, as the system can infer emotions from both text and images.

Benefits

  • The electronic apparatus provides a more comprehensive understanding of user emotions by analyzing both text and images.
  • It offers a more seamless and natural way for users to express their emotions without explicitly stating them.
  • The technology can improve user experiences by adapting content or services based on the user's emotional state.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic apparatus is provided. The electronic apparatus includes a user interface, a camera, a memory configured to store a first artificial intelligence model trained to obtain information on an emotion based on an input image, and a processor, connected to the user interface, the camera, and the memory, configured to control the electronic apparatus. The processor is configured to, based on text being input through the user interface, identify whether the text includes first information on a user's emotion, based on the text including the first information, obtain second information for the emotion by inputting the image obtained through the camera to the first artificial intelligence model, and identify a type of the user's emotion based on the first information obtained from the text and the second information obtained from the image.
