VEHICLE INCLUDING HEADLAMP AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING A VEHICLE HEADLAMP - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17992187 titled 'VEHICLE INCLUDING HEADLAMP AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING A VEHICLE HEADLAMP

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a vehicle with a headlamp that can adjust its light irradiation angle based on the height of the suspensions.

  • The vehicle has a headlamp that emits light forward.
  • It is equipped with suspensions that are connected to each wheel of the front and rear wheels.
  • The suspensions have sensors that detect the height of each suspension.
  • A controller is connected to the headlamp, suspensions, and suspension sensors.
  • The controller receives height values from the suspension sensors and compares them with a predetermined reference height.
  • Based on this comparison, the controller adjusts the light irradiation angle of the headlamp.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Improved visibility during driving at different suspension heights.
  • Enhanced safety by ensuring proper illumination of the road ahead.
  • Adaptation to different road conditions and terrains.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Inconsistent light projection due to changes in suspension height.
  • Difficulty in adjusting headlamp angle manually for different suspension heights.
  • Ensuring optimal visibility and safety in various driving conditions.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved visibility and safety for the driver and other road users.
  • Automatic adjustment of headlamp angle based on suspension height.
  • Enhanced driving experience by adapting to different road conditions.

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed herein is a vehicle that includes a headlamp configured to irradiate light forward, a plurality of suspensions coupled to each wheel of front wheels and rear wheels of the vehicle, a plurality of suspension sensors for detecting a height of each suspension of the plurality of suspensions, respectively. The vehicle may include a controller electrically connected to the headlamp, the plurality of suspensions, and the plurality of suspension sensors. In various embodiments, the controller is configured to receive a height value of each suspension of the plurality of suspensions from a corresponding sensor of the plurality of suspension sensors, and adjust a light irradiation angle of the headlamp by comparing the height values of the plurality of suspensions with a predetermined reference height.
