SNAP-FIT STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLING SNAP-FIT STRUCTURE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17976686 titled 'SNAP-FIT STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLING SNAP-FIT STRUCTURE
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a snap-fit structure that effectively utilizes space on a side where an engaging portion elastically deforms. The structure includes a mounting component with a first engaging portion and a second engaging portion, and a mounted component with an engaged portion for engaging the first and second engaging portions. The second engaging portion is positioned in a way that it is not aligned on the same line as the direction in which the first engaging portion elastically deforms.
- The snap-fit structure includes a mounting component and a mounted component.
- The mounting component has a first engaging portion and a second engaging portion.
- The mounted component has an engaged portion for engaging the first and second engaging portions.
- The second engaging portion is positioned in a way that it is not aligned with the direction of elastic deformation of the first engaging portion.
Potential applications of this technology:
- Manufacturing and assembly processes where snap-fit structures are used.
- Automotive industry for various components that require snap-fit connections.
- Consumer electronics for securing parts together in a compact and efficient manner.
Problems solved by this technology:
- Efficient utilization of space on the side where an engaging portion elastically deforms.
- Improved stability and strength of snap-fit connections.
- Simplified assembly process by providing a snap-fit structure that is easy to engage and disengage.
Benefits of this technology:
- Increased reliability and durability of snap-fit connections.
- Cost-effective manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Enhanced design flexibility by effectively utilizing available space.
Original Abstract Submitted
An object is to provide a snap-fit structure in which space on a side where an engaging portion elastically deforms can be effectively utilized. The snap-fit structure includes a mounting component with a first engaging portion and a second engaging portion and a mounted component formed with an engaged portion for engaging the first engaging portion and the second engaging portion. The second engaging portion is arranged in a position not aligned on the same line in a direction in which the first engaging portion elastically deforms.
