GROUP LINK ADAPTATION OF 5G MULTICAST BROADCAST SERVICES - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17973275 titled 'GROUP LINK ADAPTATION OF 5G MULTICAST BROADCAST SERVICES

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a system that stores multicast broadcast service (MBS) link adaption (LA) configurations and transmits channel quality indications (CQI) report requests based on these configurations. The system then receives and filters the CQI report, providing a filtered CQI report to a radio access network node.

  • MBS link adaption (LA) configurations are stored in the system.
  • The system transmits CQI report requests based on the MBS LA configurations.
  • Received CQI reports are filtered by the system.
  • A filtered CQI report is provided to a radio access network node.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in telecommunications, specifically in optimizing channel quality indications for multicast broadcast services.

Problems Solved

This technology solves the problem of efficiently managing and filtering channel quality indications in a multicast broadcast service environment.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include improved network performance, better utilization of resources, and enhanced quality of service for multicast broadcast services.

Potential Commercial Applications

A potential commercial application of this technology could be in the development of advanced network optimization solutions for telecommunications companies.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be existing systems that optimize channel quality indications in telecommunications networks.

Unanswered Questions

How does this technology impact network latency?

The article does not address how this technology may affect network latency in multicast broadcast services.

What are the potential security implications of implementing this technology?

The article does not discuss the security considerations that may arise from implementing this system for filtering CQI reports.

Original Abstract Submitted

An information handling system stores multicast broadcast service (MBS) link adaption (LA) configurations. Based on the MBS LA configurations, the system transmits a channel quality indications (CQI) report request. The system receives a CQI report and applies CQI filtering to the received CQI report and a CQI of the information handling system. In response to the CQI filtering being applied, the system provides an LA group filtered CQI report to a radio access network node.
