REFRIGERANT MODULE OF INTEGRATED THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17972323 titled 'REFRIGERANT MODULE OF INTEGRATED THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a refrigerant module for a vehicle's thermal management system. The module is designed to compactify and modularize the components related to the refrigerant, such as the compressor, condenser, expansion valve, evaporator, and accumulator. The refrigerant circulates through these components in a specific order.

  • The refrigerant module includes a compressor with a suction port and a discharge port.
  • It also includes a condenser with a suction port and a discharge port.
  • An expansion valve with a suction port and a discharge port is part of the module.
  • The module also contains an evaporator with a suction port and a discharge port.
  • Lastly, an accumulator with a suction port and a discharge port is included in the module.
  • There is a connection passage that allows the refrigerant discharged from the accumulator to flow back to the compressor.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Automotive industry: This refrigerant module can be used in vehicles to efficiently manage the thermal system, ensuring proper cooling and heating.
  • HVAC systems: The compact and modular design of the refrigerant module can be applied to HVAC systems in buildings, improving their efficiency and performance.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Compactification: By modularizing the components related to the refrigerant, the module helps reduce the overall size and complexity of the thermal management system.
  • Efficient refrigerant circulation: The specific order in which the refrigerant circulates through the components ensures optimal cooling and heating performance.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Space-saving: The compact design of the refrigerant module allows for more efficient use of space in vehicles or buildings.
  • Improved performance: The optimized circulation of the refrigerant ensures better cooling and heating capabilities, enhancing overall system performance.
  • Simplified maintenance: The modular design of the components makes it easier to access and replace individual parts, simplifying maintenance and repairs.

Original Abstract Submitted

A refrigerant module of an integrated thermal management system of a vehicle is provided in which components of the module may be compactified by modularizing the components related to a refrigerant. In the refrigerant module of the integrated thermal management system for the vehicle in which the refrigerant module is configured such that a refrigerant circulates through a compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve, an evaporator, and an accumulator, the refrigerant module includes the compressor having a first suction port and a first discharge port, the condenser having a second suction port and a second discharge port, the expansion valve having a third suction port and a third discharge port, the evaporator having a fourth suction port and a fourth discharge port, the accumulator having a fifth suction port and a fifth discharge port, and a connection passage enabling the refrigerant discharged from the accumulator to flow to the compressor.
