ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PERFORMING BLUETOOTH COMMUNICATION FOR CONTROLLING EXTERNAL ELECTRONIC DEVICE BASED ON POSITION INFORMATION WITHIN WIRELESS ENVIRONMENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17967400 titled 'ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PERFORMING BLUETOOTH COMMUNICATION FOR CONTROLLING EXTERNAL ELECTRONIC DEVICE BASED ON POSITION INFORMATION WITHIN WIRELESS ENVIRONMENT

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes an electronic device that uses Bluetooth low energy (BLE) to communicate with other devices. It can broadcast advertising packets, receive control commands for media playback, and transmit signals to identify if another device is within a certain area. It can then perform control commands for media playback and transmit advertising packets to indicate the actions performed.

  • The electronic device has a communication circuit for BLE.
  • It can broadcast advertising packets to other devices.
  • It can receive control commands for media playback from other devices.
  • It can transmit signals to identify if another device is within a predetermined area.
  • It can receive signals in response to the transmitted signals.
  • It can perform control commands for media playback based on the received signals.
  • It can transmit advertising packets to indicate the control commands performed.

Potential Applications

  • Smart home systems that can control media playback based on the presence of specific devices.
  • Personal audio devices that can automatically play music when a specific device is nearby.
  • Fitness trackers that can control music playback based on the user's location.

Problems Solved

  • Simplifies the process of controlling media playback by automatically detecting the presence of specific devices.
  • Eliminates the need for manual input or interaction to initiate media control commands.
  • Provides a seamless and convenient user experience.

Benefits

  • Enhanced user convenience and automation in controlling media playback.
  • Improved integration and interoperability between different electronic devices.
  • Reduced need for manual input or interaction, making the process more efficient.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a communication circuit for Bluetooth low energy (BLE), at least one memory, and at least one processor, when the instructions are executed, is configured to broadcast first advertising packets, receive second advertising packets at least including a control command for media playable in the electronic device, transmit a first signal for identifying whether the first external electronic device is included in a predetermined area from a second external electronic device, via the communication circuit to the second external electronic device, receive a second signal generated in response to the first signal, perform, in response to receiving the second signal indicating that the first external electronic device is included in the predetermined area via the communication circuit, a control command for the media, and transmit a third advertising packet for indicating to perform the control command for the media.
