UPLINK MULTI-USER EQUIPMENT (UE) COOPERATIVE TRANSMISSION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17967217 titled 'UPLINK MULTI-USER EQUIPMENT (UE) COOPERATIVE TRANSMISSION

Simplified Explanation

The present disclosure is about uplink cooperative multi-User Equipment (UE) transmission, specifically Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) transmission. It describes a method where source data from a source UE is transmitted to at least one cooperative UE over a shared link (SL). The source data is associated with an identifier that identifies the source UE to the network equipment. The multiple UEs then transmit the source data and the identifier in an uplink direction to the network equipment. The network equipment receives the source data and identifier, allowing it to identify the source UE.

  • Uplink cooperative multi-UE transmission is described.
  • Multiple UEs transmit source data from a source UE over a shared link (SL).
  • The source data is associated with an identifier for the source UE.
  • The multiple UEs transmit the source data and identifier to the network equipment.
  • The network equipment receives the source data and identifier, allowing it to identify the source UE.

Potential Applications

This technology can be applied in various wireless communication systems where cooperative transmission is used, such as cellular networks and wireless LANs. It can improve the efficiency and reliability of uplink transmission by utilizing multiple UEs to transmit the source data.

Problems Solved

1. Improved uplink transmission efficiency: By using cooperative transmission, the network equipment can receive the source data from multiple UEs simultaneously, increasing the overall throughput. 2. Enhanced reliability: Cooperative transmission allows for redundancy and diversity in the transmission, reducing the impact of channel fading and improving the reliability of the uplink transmission.

Benefits

1. Increased throughput: The use of cooperative transmission enables the network equipment to receive the source data from multiple UEs simultaneously, improving the overall system throughput. 2. Improved reliability: By utilizing multiple UEs to transmit the source data, the system can achieve diversity and redundancy, enhancing the reliability of the uplink transmission. 3. Efficient resource utilization: Cooperative transmission optimizes the utilization of network resources by allowing multiple UEs to transmit simultaneously, maximizing the system capacity.

Original Abstract Submitted

The present disclosure relates to uplink cooperative multi-User Equipment (UE) cooperative transmission such as Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) transmission. Source data of a source UE that is to be transmitted via uplink cooperative transmission by multiple UEs, is transmitted to at least one cooperative UE over an SL. The source data is associated with an identifier for identifying the UE to the network equipment as a source of the source data. The multiple UEs transmit the source data and the identifier in an uplink direction to the network equipment. The network equipment receives the source data from the multiple UEs in a cooperative transmission such as cooperative MIMO transmission, and obtains the identifier for identifying the source UE as the source of the source data.
