RECYCLABLE CERAMIC CATALYST FILTER, FILTERING SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME, AND METHOD OF MANAGING THE FILTERING SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17966369 titled 'RECYCLABLE CERAMIC CATALYST FILTER, FILTERING SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME, AND METHOD OF MANAGING THE FILTERING SYSTEM

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a recyclable ceramic catalyst filter, a filtering system including the filter, and a method of managing the system. Here is a simplified explanation of the abstract:

  • The patent application describes a ceramic catalyst filter that can be recycled.
  • The filter has a monolithic structure with two surfaces.
  • The first surface blocks a specific material from passing through.
  • The second surface removes a different material that managed to pass through the first surface.
  • The second surface is activated and acts as a catalyst layer to remove the second material when energy is supplied to it.
  • The patent also includes a method for managing the filtering system.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Air filtration systems in industrial settings to remove specific pollutants.
  • Water filtration systems to remove specific contaminants.
  • Exhaust systems in vehicles to reduce harmful emissions.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • The ceramic catalyst filter allows for the removal of specific materials from a fluid or gas stream, improving the quality of the output.
  • The recyclable nature of the filter reduces waste and environmental impact.
  • The activation of the second surface as a catalyst layer enhances the efficiency of the filtering process.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved filtration efficiency due to the use of a catalyst layer.
  • Recyclability of the ceramic filter reduces waste and promotes sustainability.
  • The ability to selectively remove specific materials allows for targeted filtration in various applications.

Original Abstract Submitted

A recyclable ceramic catalyst filter, a filtering system including the same, and a method of managing the filtering system are provided. The ceramic catalyst filter has a monolithic structure including a first surface which blocks a first material; and a second surface which removes a second material that passed through the first surface, where the second surface is activated and operates as a catalyst layer which removes the second material in response to energy supplied to the second surface.
