IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM, INFORMATION CARRYOVER METHOD, SERVER APPARATUS, STORAGE MEDIUM, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND IMAGE PROCESSING SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17964283 titled 'IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM, INFORMATION CARRYOVER METHOD, SERVER APPARATUS, STORAGE MEDIUM, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND IMAGE PROCESSING SYSTEM

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes an image forming system that includes multiple image forming apparatuses.

  • The system includes a first image forming apparatus with an image forming unit and an obtaining unit to collect operation-related information about the first image forming unit.
  • There is also a carryover unit that transfers information about the operation of a second image forming unit in a newly used second image forming apparatus to the first image forming apparatus.
  • The operation-related information includes the operation history of the first image forming unit.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • This image forming system can be used in office environments where multiple image forming apparatuses are used for printing, scanning, and copying documents.
  • It can also be implemented in print shops or production facilities that require efficient management of multiple image forming devices.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • The system solves the problem of manually transferring operation-related information between image forming apparatuses when a new apparatus is introduced.
  • It eliminates the need for separate tracking systems or manual record-keeping of operation history for each image forming unit.

Benefits of this technology:

  • The system simplifies the management and maintenance of multiple image forming apparatuses by automatically transferring operation-related information.
  • It improves efficiency by providing a comprehensive view of the operation history of all image forming units in the system.
  • It reduces the risk of errors or omissions in tracking the operation history of image forming units.

Original Abstract Submitted

There is provided an image forming system including at least a first image forming apparatus that includes a first image forming unit and an obtaining unit configured to obtain operation-related information related to an operation of the first image forming unit. The image forming system further includes a carryover unit configured to carry over, to a second image forming apparatus, information related to an operation of a second image forming unit of the second image forming apparatus among the operation-related information obtained by the first image forming apparatus when the second image forming apparatus is newly used in the image forming system. The operation-related information includes operation history information of the first image forming unit.
