The system determines one or more designated entities having predefined characteristics associated therewith indicating suitability for assistance and determines a current status of each determined entity and whether the status indicates availability for assistance. Further, the system contacts at least one of the entities for which the characteristics indicate suitability and for which the status indicates availability and, responsive to at least one entity indicating willingness to assist, opens a communication channel between a requestor, from whom the request originated, and the at least one entity indicating willingness to assist.
