MACHINE LEARNING BASED SYSTEM(S) FOR NETWORK TRAFFIC DISCOVERY AND ROUTING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17957854 titled 'MACHINE LEARNING BASED SYSTEM(S) FOR NETWORK TRAFFIC DISCOVERY AND ROUTING

Simplified Explanation

The present invention involves a system for network traffic discovery and routing, specifically focusing on capturing data traffic, retrieving source code, determining API traffic, identifying end-point devices, selecting an appropriate API, and transmitting recommendations to use the selected API.

  • Data traffic is captured across network ports in a computing environment.
  • Source code is retrieved from code repositories.
  • The system determines that the data traffic and source code are associated with API traffic.
  • One or more end-point devices associated with the API traffic are identified.
  • A first API capable of processing the API traffic is determined, meeting supervisory requirements.
  • Notifications are transmitted to the end-point devices, recommending the use of the first API to process the API traffic.

Potential Applications

This technology can be applied in various industries such as telecommunications, cybersecurity, and software development for efficient network traffic management and routing.

Problems Solved

This system solves the problem of identifying and routing API traffic effectively within a network, ensuring optimal performance and security.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include improved network traffic management, enhanced security measures, and optimized API processing for better overall system performance.

Potential Commercial Applications

The potential commercial applications of this technology include network security companies, software development firms, and telecommunications providers looking to streamline their API traffic routing processes.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art for this technology could be existing network traffic monitoring and routing systems used in the telecommunications industry.

Unanswered Questions

How does this technology handle API traffic from multiple sources simultaneously?

The system is designed to handle API traffic from multiple sources by identifying each source and routing the traffic accordingly to the appropriate API.

What measures are in place to ensure the security of the transmitted notifications to end-point devices?

Security measures such as encryption and authentication protocols are implemented to secure the notifications transmitted to end-point devices, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of the recommendations provided.

Original Abstract Submitted

Systems, computer program products, and methods are described herein for network traffic discovery and routing. The present invention is configured to capture data traffic across network ports in a computing environment; retrieve source code from code repositories; determine that the data traffic and the source code are associated with application programming interface (API) traffic; determine one or more end-point devices associated with the API traffic; determine a first API capable of processing the API traffic, wherein the first API meets supervisory requirements; and transmit a notification to the one or more end-point devices, wherein the notification comprises a recommendation to use the first API to process the API traffic.
