RESOURCE RESTRICTIONS FOR SUB-BAND FULL-DUPLEX (SBFD) AND DYNAMIC TIME DIVISION DUPLEX (TDD) OPERATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17957701 titled 'RESOURCE RESTRICTIONS FOR SUB-BAND FULL-DUPLEX (SBFD) AND DYNAMIC TIME DIVISION DUPLEX (TDD) OPERATION

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications, specifically focusing on sub-band full duplex (SBFD) and dynamic time division duplex (TDD) operations.

  • Wireless communications systems may support resource restrictions for SBFD and dynamic TDD operations.
  • User equipment (UE) may receive control signaling from a network entity indicating restrictions on slots associated with communications.
  • The restrictions may modify the availability of duplexing settings for sub-bands.
  • The UE communicates with the network entity via a subset of the sub-bands in accordance with the restrictions.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in various wireless communication systems to optimize resource allocation and improve efficiency in SBFD and dynamic TDD operations.

Problems Solved

1. Efficient resource allocation in wireless communications systems. 2. Enhancing the performance of SBFD and dynamic TDD operations.

Benefits

1. Improved communication efficiency. 2. Enhanced spectrum utilization. 3. Better overall network performance.

Potential Commercial Applications

Optimizing wireless communication systems for better performance and resource management.

Possible Prior Art

There may be prior art related to resource allocation and duplexing settings in wireless communication systems, but specific examples are not provided in the abstract.

Unanswered Questions

How does this technology impact battery life in mobile devices?

This technology could potentially affect battery life in mobile devices due to the optimized resource allocation and communication efficiency. However, the abstract does not provide specific details on this aspect.

What are the potential security implications of implementing these restrictions in wireless communications systems?

Implementing restrictions on slots and sub-bands in wireless communications systems may have security implications. It would be important to consider how these restrictions could impact the overall security of the network and data transmission.

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications systems may support resource restrictions for sub-band full duplex (SBFD) and dynamic time division duplex (TDD) operations. For example, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, control signaling indicating a restriction to one or more slots associated with communications between the UE and the network entity. Each of the one or more slots may be associated with one or more sub-bands and the restriction may modify an availability of a duplexing setting for at least a portion of the one or more sub-bands. Additionally, the UE may communicate with the network entity via at least a subset of the one or more sub-bands of the one or more slots in accordance with the restriction.
