TECHNIQUES FOR REPORTING FREQUENCY CORRECTIONS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17957216 titled 'TECHNIQUES FOR REPORTING FREQUENCY CORRECTIONS

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication, specifically focusing on frequency corrections. Here are the key points:

  • User equipment (UE) receives a request from a network entity to report one or more frequency corrections, along with reporting parameters.
  • The network entity transmits a set of reference signals to the UE for performing the frequency corrections.
  • The UE monitors the reference signals and reports the frequency corrections to the network entity based on the reporting parameters.
  • The report can be transmitted periodically, triggered by certain events, or both as indicated in the reporting parameters.
  • The network entity uses the reported frequency corrections for channel estimations.

Potential Applications

This technology can be applied in various wireless communication systems to improve frequency correction processes and enhance overall network performance.

Problems Solved

1. Efficient frequency correction reporting in wireless communication systems. 2. Enhanced channel estimations based on accurate frequency corrections.

Benefits

1. Improved network reliability and performance. 2. Enhanced user experience with better signal quality. 3. Streamlined frequency correction processes for network optimization.

Potential Commercial Applications

"Wireless Communication Frequency Correction System for Enhanced Network Performance"

Possible Prior Art

There may be prior art related to frequency correction mechanisms in wireless communication systems, but specific examples would require further research.

Unanswered Questions

How does this technology impact battery life in user equipment (UE)?

The patent application does not address the potential impact of these frequency correction processes on the battery life of UE devices. This could be a crucial aspect to consider, especially for mobile devices that rely on wireless communication.

Are there any limitations to the types of frequency corrections that can be reported using this system?

The patent application does not specify any limitations on the types of frequency corrections that can be reported. It would be essential to understand if there are any constraints or restrictions on the frequency correction reporting process outlined in the patent.

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, a request to report one or more frequency corrections, the request including an indication of one or more reporting parameters for the one or more frequency corrections. The network entity may transmit a set of one or more reference signals associated with performing the one or more frequency corrections at the UE. The UE may monitor for the set of one or more reference signals and transmit, to the network entity, a report indicating the one or more frequency corrections in accordance with the one or more reporting parameters. The UE may transmit the report according to a periodicity, according to a trigger, or both indicated in the one or more reporting parameters. The network entity may perform channel estimations based on the report indicating the one or more frequency corrections.
