ROUTE INFORMATION STORAGE METHOD AND APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17955698 titled 'ROUTE INFORMATION STORAGE METHOD AND APPARATUS

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a method for storing route information in a wireless mesh network. The method is specifically designed for a network that includes multiple nodes and stations.

  • The method involves a first node, a second node, and at least two stations (STAs) connected to the second node.
  • When a routing request is received by the first node from the first STA, it checks if a route entry for the second STA already exists.
  • If a route entry for the second STA is found, the first node reuses that route entry instead of generating a new one for the first STA.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Wireless mesh networks: The method can be applied to improve the efficiency and performance of wireless mesh networks by reusing existing route entries.
  • Internet of Things (IoT): The method can be used in IoT networks to optimize routing and reduce network congestion.
  • Smart cities: This technology can be beneficial in the development of smart city infrastructure, where efficient and reliable communication networks are crucial.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Reducing overhead: By reusing existing route entries, the method eliminates the need to generate new entries, reducing the overhead on the network.
  • Improving network performance: By reusing established routes, the method can improve the speed and efficiency of data transmission within the network.
  • Simplifying network management: The method simplifies the management of route information by reusing existing entries, making it easier to maintain and troubleshoot the network.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Increased network efficiency: By reusing route entries, the method reduces the time and resources required for routing, resulting in improved network efficiency.
  • Enhanced scalability: The method allows for easier scalability of the network as new nodes and stations can reuse existing route entries.
  • Reduced network congestion: By optimizing routing, the method helps in reducing network congestion and improving overall network performance.

Original Abstract Submitted

This application discloses a route information storage method. The method is applied to a wireless mesh network, the wireless mesh network includes a first node, a second node, and at least two stations STAs, the first node is an upper-level node of the second node, the at least two STAs include a first STA and a second STA, and the first STA and the second STA are connected to the second node. In the method, the first node receives a routing request for access requested by the first STA, and if it is determined that a first route entry corresponding to the second STA already exists, the first node no longer generates a new route entry for the first STA, but reuses the first route entry.
