REAL-TIME SITUATIONAL PLANNING FOR PASSENGER TRANSPORT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17955549 titled 'REAL-TIME SITUATIONAL PLANNING FOR PASSENGER TRANSPORT

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a system for monitoring and improving the utilization of a public transport vehicle by analyzing sensor data from both the interior of the vehicle and the station stops. The system generates notification messages with movement control information based on the situational status of the vehicle.

  • The system determines the in-vehicle status of a passenger transport vehicle using sensor data from the interior.
  • The system also determines the station status at a station stop based on station sensor data.
  • A situational status is then calculated based on the in-vehicle status and the station status.
  • Notification messages with movement control information are generated for the vehicle or passengers based on the situational status.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in various public transport systems to optimize vehicle utilization and improve passenger experience.

Problems Solved

- Inefficient use of public transport vehicles - Lack of real-time information for passengers and operators

Benefits

- Increased efficiency in public transport operations - Enhanced passenger safety and experience

Potential Commercial Applications

"Optimizing Public Transport Vehicle Utilization System for Enhanced Efficiency and Passenger Experience"

Possible Prior Art

There may be existing systems that monitor public transport vehicles or provide real-time information to passengers, but the specific combination of in-vehicle and station sensor data for generating movement control information may be novel.

What are the technical specifications of the sensor data used in the system?

The technical specifications of the sensor data used in the system are not detailed in the abstract. It would be important to know the types of sensors employed, their accuracy, sampling rate, and any data processing techniques used.

How does the system ensure passenger privacy when collecting in-vehicle sensor data?

The abstract does not mention how passenger privacy is ensured when collecting in-vehicle sensor data. It would be crucial to understand the measures in place to protect passenger information and comply with privacy regulations.

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed herein are systems, devices, and methods for monitoring and improving utilization of a public transport vehicle. The transport control system determines an in-vehicle status of a passenger transport vehicle based on in-vehicle sensor data about an interior of the passenger transport vehicle. The transport control system also determines a station status at a station stop for the passenger transport vehicle based on station sensor data about the station stop. The transport control system also determines a situational status based on the in-vehicle status and the station status. The transport control system also generates a notification message with movement control information for the passenger transport vehicle or for a passenger, wherein the movement control information is based on the situational status.
