ELECTRONIC APPARATUS AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17951273 titled 'ELECTRONIC APPARATUS AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes an electronic apparatus that can automatically connect to a wireless network without the need for manual configuration. Here are the key points:

  • The apparatus includes a communication interface and a processor.
  • When there is no wireless network connection, the processor randomly obtains identification information and a password for a wireless network through the communication interface.
  • A first guide User Interface (UI) is controlled by the processor to display the obtained identification information and password.
  • If there is a wireless network corresponding to the identification information, the apparatus transmits the identification information and password to a wireless router through the communication interface.
  • The wireless router generates a second signal based on the received password.
  • The apparatus receives the second signal from the wireless router through the communication interface and uses it to connect to the wireless network provided by the router.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Consumer electronics devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops, can use this technology to simplify the process of connecting to a wireless network.
  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices can benefit from this technology by automatically connecting to a network without the need for manual configuration.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Manual configuration of wireless network settings can be time-consuming and prone to errors. This technology automates the process, making it more convenient for users.
  • Users may struggle with remembering or finding the correct password for a wireless network. This technology eliminates the need for users to manually enter the password.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Simplifies the process of connecting to a wireless network, saving time and effort for users.
  • Reduces the chances of errors in network configuration, ensuring a more reliable and seamless connection.
  • Enhances user experience by eliminating the need to remember or search for network passwords.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic apparatus including a communication interface and a processor. The processor is configured to, based on no wireless network connection, randomly obtain identification information and a password corresponding to a wireless network through the communication interface and control a first guide User Interface (UI) to provide the identification information and the password, based on there being a wireless network corresponding to the identification information, transmit a first signal and the password to a wireless router corresponding to the wireless network through the communication interface, and based on a second signal generated according to the transmitted password being received from the wireless router through the communication interface, connect to the wireless network provided by the wireless router.
