FURROW VISUALIZATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17949852 titled 'FURROW VISUALIZATION

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a system for furrow analysis and visualization, including a radar sensor to acquire data related to a furrow being created, a visualization apparatus to generate a point cloud of the furrow, and a furrow analyzing processor to analyze the point cloud and generate a visualization of the furrow.

  • The system includes a radar sensor coupled to a planting vehicle to collect data on furrows.
  • A visualization apparatus is used to create a point cloud representation of the furrow.
  • A furrow analyzing processor processes the point cloud data to generate a visualization of the furrow.

Potential Applications

The technology could be applied in precision agriculture for monitoring and optimizing furrow creation processes.

Problems Solved

The system helps in accurately analyzing and visualizing furrows, aiding in improving planting techniques and crop yield.

Benefits

The technology provides real-time feedback on furrow creation, leading to more efficient planting practices and potentially increased crop production.

Potential Commercial Applications

The system could be utilized by agricultural equipment manufacturers, farmers, and researchers in the field of precision agriculture.

Possible Prior Art

There may be prior art related to radar sensors and visualization systems used in agriculture for monitoring soil conditions and crop growth.

Unanswered Questions

How does the system handle variations in soil types and conditions that may affect furrow creation?

The system may need to be calibrated or adjusted based on different soil types and conditions to ensure accurate furrow analysis and visualization.

What are the limitations of using radar sensors for furrow analysis compared to other sensing technologies?

Radar sensors may have limitations in terms of resolution and accuracy compared to other sensing technologies, which could impact the quality of furrow visualization and analysis.

Original Abstract Submitted

One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for furrow analysis and visualization. A system for furrow visualization includes a radar sensor configured to be coupled to a planting vehicle and acquire data relating to a furrow being created, and a visualization apparatus communicatively coupled to the radar sensor and configured to generate a point cloud of the furrow. The system further includes a furrow analyzing processor configured to analyze the point cloud and generate a visualization of the furrow.
