VEHICLE FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17947910 titled 'VEHICLE FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a vehicle fire suppression system that can quickly extinguish an initial fire in a vehicle by circulating or ejecting an extinguishing fluid through the refrigerant line of the vehicle's cooling system. The system includes a vehicle cooling device with a refrigerant line, an extinguishing fluid container, a multi-way valve, and a controller.
- The vehicle fire suppression system uses the existing refrigerant line of the vehicle's cooling system to circulate or eject an extinguishing fluid to quickly extinguish a fire.
- A multi-way valve controls the flow of refrigerant introduced into the compressor and regulates the supply of the extinguishing fluid from the container to the compressor.
- The controller is responsible for controlling the multi-way valve to switch between cooling operation and extinguishing operation of the vehicle cooling device.
Potential Applications
- This technology can be applied to various types of vehicles, including cars, trucks, buses, and even heavy machinery, to provide a quick and effective fire suppression system.
- It can be particularly useful in situations where a vehicle fire needs to be extinguished rapidly to prevent further damage or injury.
Problems Solved
- The vehicle fire suppression system solves the problem of quickly extinguishing an initial fire in a vehicle, reducing the risk of further damage or injury.
- By utilizing the existing refrigerant line of the vehicle's cooling system, the system provides a cost-effective solution without the need for additional complex components.
Benefits
- The system provides a rapid response to vehicle fires, helping to minimize damage and potential injuries.
- By using the refrigerant line, the system takes advantage of existing infrastructure, reducing the need for additional components and costs.
- The ability to switch between cooling operation and extinguishing operation allows for flexibility in using the system for both fire suppression and regular cooling purposes.
Original Abstract Submitted
A vehicle fire suppression system capable of quickly extinguishing an initial fire in the event of a vehicle fire by circulating or ejecting an extinguishing fluid through a refrigerant line of a vehicle cooling system, and a control method thereof are provided. The vehicle fire suppression system comprises a vehicle cooling device having a refrigerant line circulating around a compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve, an evaporator, and a gas-liquid separator; an extinguishing fluid container in which an extinguishing fluid is stored; a multi-way valve provided upstream of the compressor on the refrigerant line to control a refrigerant introduced into the compressor, and connected to the extinguishing fluid container to regulate the extinguishing fluid supplied to the compressor; and a controller configured to control the multi-way valve to implement a cooling operation or an extinguishing operation of the cooling device.
