COLOR ENHANCEMENT ALGORITHM FOR COLOR-DEFICIENT PEOPLE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17943430 titled 'COLOR ENHANCEMENT ALGORITHM FOR COLOR-DEFICIENT PEOPLE

Simplified Explanation

The electronic device described in the patent application is capable of adjusting color components for pixels in an image based on a classification determined by the processing circuitry.

  • The device includes a display and processing circuitry.
  • The processing circuitry receives source image data with color components for each pixel.
  • Color components consist of a maximum, middle, and minimum color component.
  • The processing circuitry determines a classification for each pixel based on the color components.
  • Adjusted image data is generated by modifying color components based on the classification.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in image processing software, digital cameras, and graphic design tools.

Problems Solved

This technology helps in enhancing image quality, color accuracy, and overall visual appeal of images.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include improved color representation, better image quality, and enhanced visual aesthetics.

Potential Commercial Applications

Optimizing Color Components for Enhanced Image Quality and Visual Appeal.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device includes a display and processing circuitry that is communicatively coupled to the display. The processing circuitry is configured to receive source image data indicative of color components for a pixel of the source image data. The color components include a maximum color component, a middle color component, and a minimum color component. The processing circuitry is also configured to determine a classification for the pixel based at least in part on the color component and to generate adjusted image data by modifying one or more of the color components based at least in part on the classification.
