SOYBEAN CULTIVAR 18040716 - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17941753 titled 'SOYBEAN CULTIVAR 18040716

Simplified Explanation

The soybean cultivar 18040716 is a new variety of soybean with specific genetic traits that make it unique and valuable for agricultural purposes.

  • This soybean cultivar, designated as 18040716, has distinct seeds, plants, and plant parts that set it apart from other soybean varieties.
  • The invention includes methods for producing progeny of soybean cultivar 18040716, as well as methods for introducing transgenes into soybean plants.
  • The patent also covers the production of hybrid soybean seeds, plants, and plant parts by crossing cultivar 18040716 with another soybean cultivar.

Potential Applications

The soybean cultivar 18040716 can be used in agriculture for its specific genetic traits, potentially leading to higher yields, improved resistance to pests or diseases, or other desirable characteristics.

Problems Solved

This technology helps address the need for soybean varieties with enhanced traits that can benefit farmers and the agricultural industry as a whole.

Benefits

Farmers can benefit from using soybean cultivar 18040716 by potentially increasing their crop yields, reducing the need for pesticides, or improving the overall quality of their soybean harvest.

Potential Commercial Applications

The technology behind soybean cultivar 18040716 could have commercial applications in the agricultural industry, such as seed production, farming operations, or biotechnology research.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be the development of other soybean cultivars with specific genetic traits, although the exact details would need to be researched further.

Original Abstract Submitted

A soybean cultivar designated 18040716 is disclosed. The invention relates to the seeds of soybean cultivar 18040716, to the plants of soybean cultivar 18040716, to the plant parts of soybean cultivar 18040716, and to methods for producing progeny of soybean cultivar 18040716. The invention also relates to methods for producing a soybean plant containing in its genetic material one or more transgenes and to the transgenic soybean plants and plant parts produced by those methods. The invention also relates to soybean cultivars or breeding cultivars, and plant parts derived from soybean cultivar 18040716. The invention also relates to methods for producing other soybean cultivars, lines, or plant parts derived from soybean cultivar 18040716, and to the soybean plants, varieties, and their parts derived from use of those methods. The invention further relates to hybrid soybean seeds, plants, and plant parts produced by crossing cultivar 18040716 with another soybean cultivar.
