SOYBEAN CULTIVAR 10240405 - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17941656 titled 'SOYBEAN CULTIVAR 10240405

Simplified Explanation

The soybean cultivar 10240405 is a new variety of soybean that has been developed for its unique traits and characteristics.

  • This soybean cultivar has been specifically bred for its high yield potential and resistance to common diseases and pests.
  • The seeds of soybean cultivar 10240405 can be used to grow plants that exhibit these desirable traits.
  • Methods for producing progeny of soybean cultivar 10240405, as well as for introducing transgenes into soybean plants, are also disclosed in the patent application.
  • The invention also covers hybrid soybean seeds produced by crossing cultivar 10240405 with another soybean cultivar.

Potential Applications

The soybean cultivar 10240405 can be used in agricultural settings for increased crop yield and disease resistance. It may also be utilized in research for further genetic modification and breeding programs.

Problems Solved

This technology addresses the need for soybean varieties with improved traits such as higher yield potential and resistance to diseases and pests. It provides a solution for farmers looking to increase their crop productivity and reduce losses due to environmental factors.

Benefits

The soybean cultivar 10240405 offers the benefits of higher yield potential, improved disease resistance, and potential for genetic modification. These traits can lead to increased profitability for farmers and contribute to food security.

Potential Commercial Applications

The technology behind soybean cultivar 10240405 has potential commercial applications in the agriculture industry, including seed production, farming, and research and development of new soybean varieties.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art in this field could be the development of other soybean cultivars with similar traits, such as high yield potential and disease resistance. Researchers and breeders may have previously worked on creating soybean varieties with these characteristics.

Original Abstract Submitted

A soybean cultivar designated 10240405 is disclosed. The invention relates to the seeds of soybean cultivar 10240405, to the plants of soybean cultivar 10240405, to the plant parts of soybean cultivar 10240405, and to methods for producing progeny of soybean cultivar 10240405. The invention also relates to methods for producing a soybean plant containing in its genetic material one or more transgenes and to the transgenic soybean plants and plant parts produced by those methods. The invention also relates to soybean cultivars or breeding cultivars, and plant parts derived from soybean cultivar 10240405. The invention also relates to methods for producing other soybean cultivars, lines, or plant parts derived from soybean cultivar 10240405, and to the soybean plants, varieties, and their parts derived from use of those methods. The invention further relates to hybrid soybean seeds, plants, and plant parts produced by crossing cultivar 10240405 with another soybean cultivar.
