MOBILE NETWORK ENTITY CROSS LINK INTERFERENCE MEASUREMENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17941440 titled 'MOBILE NETWORK ENTITY CROSS LINK INTERFERENCE MEASUREMENT

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications, specifically focusing on cross link interference (CLI) measurements between network entities.

  • First network entity sends a request for resources to monitor reference signals from a second network entity.
  • CLI measurements are performed on the reference signals received on the resources from the second network entity.
  • The measurements can be used to schedule communications at either network entity.
  • A first network entity receives an indication of aperiodic resources to monitor for reference signals from a second network entity.
  • CLI measurements are performed on the reference signals received on the aperiodic resources from the second network entity.

Potential Applications

This technology can be applied in:

  • Wireless communication systems
  • Mobile networks
  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices

Problems Solved

  • Interference mitigation in wireless communications
  • Efficient scheduling of communications
  • Improved network performance and reliability

Benefits

  • Enhanced signal quality
  • Optimal resource allocation
  • Increased network capacity and throughput

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In one aspect, a first network entity may transmit a request for resources (e.g., periodic, aperiodic, or semi-persistent resources) to monitor for reference signals from a second network entity, and the first network entity may perform CLI measurements on the reference signals received on the resources from the second network entity. The first network entity or the second network entity may be a mobile network entity. The CLI measurements may be used to schedule communications at the first network entity or the second network entity. In another aspect, a first network entity may receive an indication of aperiodic resources to monitor for reference signals from a second network entity, and the first network entity may perform cross link interference (CLI) measurements on the reference signals received on the aperiodic resources from the second network entity.
