ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING MULTIPLE DISPLAYS AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17940456 titled 'ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING MULTIPLE DISPLAYS AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes an electronic device with a camera module, two displays, and a processor. The device can display camera functions on both displays, with one facing forward and the other facing backward.

  • The device can show an image from the camera module on one of the screens.
  • Users can select camera functions through the first screen.
  • The device can detect inputs related to a subject's gaze or gesture while a camera function is selected.
  • The second screen can display an indication that restricts the selection of camera functions based on the subject's gaze or gesture.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Improved user experience in camera applications on electronic devices.
  • Enhanced functionality for capturing photos or videos using gaze or gesture inputs.
  • Potential use in augmented reality or virtual reality applications.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Provides a more intuitive and user-friendly interface for camera applications.
  • Allows for more precise control and selection of camera functions.
  • Addresses the need for efficient and convenient ways to interact with camera applications.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Simplifies the camera application interface by utilizing two displays.
  • Enables users to control camera functions through gaze or gesture inputs.
  • Enhances the overall user experience and interaction with camera applications.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a camera module, a first display, a second display, and at least one processor. The at least one processor may be configured to display a first screen and a second screen for displaying at least one function of a camera application on the first display facing in a first direction and the second display facing in a second direction opposite to the first direction, respectively, wherein at least one of the first screen or the second screen includes an image obtained through the camera module, identify a first input for selecting a first function of the camera application through the first screen, identify a second input related to a subject's gaze or gesture in a state in which the first function of the camera application is selected through the first screen, and display, on the second screen, in a state in which the first function of the camera application is selected through the first screen, an indication indicating that selection of the first function by the second input related to the subject's gaze or gesture is restricted.
