HARQ FEEDBACK REPORTING FOR CROSS-CARRIER SCHEDULING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17937551 titled 'HARQ FEEDBACK REPORTING FOR CROSS-CARRIER SCHEDULING

Simplified Explanation

The patent application relates to wireless communication and specifically to the transmission of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) and physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) communications in a cellular network.

  • The base station can transmit multiple PDCCH communications in the same monitoring occasion in one cell and multiple PDSCH communications in either the same cell or a different cell.
  • Each PDCCH communication schedules a specific PDSCH communication.
  • The PDCCH communication includes an indication of a counter downlink assignment index based on the starting symbol, the cell index, and the monitoring occasion.
  • This technology allows for efficient scheduling and transmission of PDSCH communications in a cellular network.

Potential Applications

  • This technology can be applied in various wireless communication systems, such as 4G and 5G networks.
  • It can improve the efficiency and reliability of data transmission in cellular networks.
  • The technology can be used by network operators and equipment manufacturers to enhance the performance of their wireless communication systems.

Problems Solved

  • Efficient scheduling and transmission of PDSCH communications in a cellular network.
  • Optimization of resource allocation and utilization in wireless communication systems.
  • Improved reliability and performance of data transmission in cellular networks.

Benefits

  • Enhanced efficiency and reliability of data transmission in cellular networks.
  • Improved resource allocation and utilization in wireless communication systems.
  • Increased performance and capacity of wireless networks.

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a base station may transmit a plurality of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) communications in a same PDCCH monitoring occasion in a first cell, and may transmit a plurality of physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) communications in at least one of the first cell or a second cell. Each of the PDCCH communications schedules a respective PDSCH communication of the plurality of PDSCH communications. A PDCCH communication, of the plurality of PDCCH communications, includes an indication of a counter downlink assignment index that is based at least in part on a combination of a starting symbol and a cell in which an associated PDSCH communication is to be transmitted, a cell index of the cell in which the associated PDSCH communication is to be transmitted, and the PDCCH monitoring occasion. Numerous other aspects are provided.
