INDICATION OF INTRA-UE MULTIPLEXING OR INTRA-UE CANCELLATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17934049 titled 'INDICATION OF INTRA-UE MULTIPLEXING OR INTRA-UE CANCELLATION

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a patent application related to radio resource control (RRC) in a wireless communication system. The invention involves a method for a User Equipment (UE) to handle overlapping uplink channels with different priorities. Here are the key points:

  • The UE receives an RRC message that provides a semi-static configuration for the UE.
  • The configuration is related to either prioritizing the overlapping uplink channels or multiplexing them within the UE.
  • Based on the information in the RRC message, the UE determines whether to prioritize or multiplex the set of overlapping uplink channels with different priorities.
  • The UE then transmits an uplink transmission, including one or more of the overlapping uplink channels, based on the semi-static configuration provided in the RRC message.

Potential Applications

  • This technology can be applied in various wireless communication systems, such as cellular networks, to efficiently manage overlapping uplink channels with different priorities.
  • It can improve the overall performance and resource utilization of the system by dynamically adapting the handling of these channels based on the received configuration.

Problems Solved

  • Overlapping uplink channels with different priorities can cause interference and inefficiency in wireless communication systems.
  • Prioritizing or multiplexing these channels within the UE can help mitigate interference and optimize resource allocation.
  • The invention solves the problem of determining the appropriate handling method for the overlapping uplink channels based on a semi-static configuration.

Benefits

  • Efficient management of overlapping uplink channels with different priorities leads to improved system performance and resource utilization.
  • The dynamic adaptation of prioritization or multiplexing based on the received configuration allows for flexible and optimized handling of the channels.
  • This technology can enhance the overall user experience by reducing interference and maximizing the utilization of available resources.

Original Abstract Submitted

A UE receives radio resource control (RRC) message indicating a semi-static configuration for the UE for one of: intra-UE prioritization for overlapping uplink channels of different priorities or intra-UE multiplexing for the overlapping uplink channels of the different priorities. The UE determines between the intra-UE prioritization or the intra-UE multiplexing for a set of overlapping uplink channels of the different priorities based, at least in part, on the RRC message and transmits an uplink transmission including one or more of the set of overlapping uplink channels based, at least in part, on the semi-static configuration in the RRC message.
