CYCLIC SHIFTS FOR MULTIPLE RESOURCE BLOCK PHYSICAL UPLINK CONTROL CHANNEL COMMUNICATIONS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17930684 titled 'CYCLIC SHIFTS FOR MULTIPLE RESOURCE BLOCK PHYSICAL UPLINK CONTROL CHANNEL COMMUNICATIONS

Simplified Explanation

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to wireless communication and specifically to a method for processing information for a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) communication. The method involves applying a cyclic shift to the information based on a set of cyclic shifts, and transmitting the PUCCH communication including the processed information.

  • The method involves processing information for a PUCCH communication.
  • The information is processed by applying a cyclic shift from a set of cyclic shifts.
  • The PUCCH communication is associated with multiple resource blocks (RBs).
  • The set of cyclic shifts includes specific values.
  • The processed information is transmitted in the PUCCH communication.

Potential Applications

  • This technology can be applied in various wireless communication systems, such as cellular networks, to improve the efficiency and reliability of PUCCH communications.
  • It can be used in applications that require reliable uplink control channel communications, such as real-time data transmission, voice calls, and video streaming.
  • The method can be implemented in user equipment (UE) devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and IoT devices, to enhance their wireless communication capabilities.

Problems Solved

  • The method solves the problem of efficiently processing information for PUCCH communications in wireless communication systems.
  • It addresses the challenge of optimizing the transmission of PUCCH communications associated with multiple RBs.
  • The method provides a solution for applying cyclic shifts to the information, which can improve the reliability and performance of PUCCH communications.

Benefits

  • The method improves the efficiency and reliability of PUCCH communications by applying specific cyclic shifts to the information.
  • It enhances the overall performance of wireless communication systems by optimizing the transmission of PUCCH communications associated with multiple RBs.
  • The method enables user equipment devices to transmit PUCCH communications more effectively, resulting in improved wireless communication capabilities.

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may process, for a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) communication, information to be included in the PUCCH communication based at least in part on applying a cyclic shift, from a set of cyclic shifts, to the information, wherein the PUCCH communication is associated with multiple resource blocks (RBs), wherein a quantity of the multiple RBs is M, and wherein the set of cyclic shifts include cyclic shift values of 0, M, 3M, 4M, 6M, 7M, 9M, and 10M. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on processing the information, the PUCCH communication including the information. Numerous other aspects are described.
