CONTROLLING PARTICIPANT INTERACTION WITHIN REMOTE MEETING SESSIONS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17930446 titled 'CONTROLLING PARTICIPANT INTERACTION WITHIN REMOTE MEETING SESSIONS

Simplified Explanation

The abstract of the patent application describes a method for controlling participant interaction within remote meeting sessions by capturing participant data, identifying events in the data, and modifying participant interaction modes based on these events.

  • Capturing participant data (audio, image, text) using a device
  • Identifying events in the participant data
  • Determining if the participant has modified their interaction mode
  • Modifying the participant interaction mode based on the event causing a change

Potential Applications

Original Abstract Submitted

A computer-implemented method, a computer system and a computer program product control participant interaction within remote meeting sessions. The method includes capturing participant data using a device, where the participant data is associated with a participant within the remote meeting session and is selected from a group consisting of: audio data, image data and text data. The method also includes identifying an event in the participant data. The method further includes determining that the participant has not modified a participant interaction mode. Lastly, the method includes modifying the participant interaction mode of the participant when the event is classified as causing a change of the participant interaction mode.
