METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING SIGNAL FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17923040 titled 'METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING SIGNAL FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a patent application related to a terminal in a wireless communication system. The terminal is a second type terminal with reduced capability compared to a first type terminal. The terminal receives a Physical Broadcast Channel (PBCH) signal through a Secondary Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) and receives Scheduling Information Block 1 (SIB1) through a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH). The SIB1 received by the terminal may include a second type SIB1 different from the first type SIB1 received by the first type terminal.

  • The patent application is related to a terminal in a wireless communication system.
  • The terminal is a second type terminal with reduced capability compared to a first type terminal.
  • The terminal receives a PBCH signal through an SSB.
  • The terminal receives SIB1-scheduling information for a first CORESET based on the PBCH signal.
  • The terminal receives an SIB1 through a PDSCH.
  • The SIB1 received by the terminal may include a second type SIB1 different from the first type SIB1 received by the first type terminal.

Potential Applications

  • This technology can be applied in 3GPP-based wireless communication systems.
  • It can be used to support different types of terminals with varying capabilities.
  • The patent application provides a solution for terminals with reduced capability to receive specific SIB1 information.

Problems Solved

  • The patent application solves the problem of providing different types of terminals with appropriate SIB1 information.
  • It addresses the issue of terminals with reduced capability not being able to receive the same SIB1 as higher-capability terminals.

Benefits

  • The technology allows for efficient communication between different types of terminals in a wireless communication system.
  • It ensures that terminals with reduced capability can still receive relevant SIB1 information.
  • The patent application improves the overall performance and compatibility of the wireless communication system.

Original Abstract Submitted

A terminal performing initial cell access, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, receives a PBCH signal through an SSB, receives SIB1-scheduling information for a first CORESET on the basis of the PBCH signal, and receives an SIB1 through a PDSCH, wherein the terminal is a second type terminal with reduced capability to support a maximum bandwidth smaller than that of a first type terminal among different types of terminals supported in a 3GPP-based wireless communication system, and even though the PBCH signal received by the terminal is set to be the same as a PBCH signal received by the first type terminal, the SIB1 received by the terminal may include a second type SIB1 different from a first type SIB1 that the first type terminal receives.
